Dugges began producing highly hopped beers in America in 2018 as it was easier to produce the beers there rather than transport them, with the beer staying at a higher quality as a result. This beer was first produced in America in 2019, but produced again here in Sweden and re-released in September 2023. It is brewed with Centennial, Citra, Mosaic and Nelson Sauvin hops. Over the years I’ve had a number of Hazy IPA from Dugges, and they’ve never disappointed, so I was really happy to pick this up for the tasting as I just knew it would be a winner.
This was a very thick and hazy DIPA, with a creamy body and heavy head that sat on top of the liquid for a long, long time. When the glass was swirled, it stuck to the sides of the glass and looked extremely appetising. The aroma was fresh and aromatic, with big peach, apricot, satsuma and pineapple notes all registered. As expected, the body was thick and coated the tongue completely upon the first sip. The rich blend of fruits enveloped the palate, with the orange and creamy peach at the forefront. The aftertaste was fairly short, but did leave a lingering bitterness on the back of the tongue that was reminiscent of warm pine. The alcohol was very well hidden and this could be so dangerous as it was very easy to drink!
This was simply delightful, and I’m so glad I got to try it. Another excellent hazy IPA from Dugges!
