The brewery is located in old factory buildings in Ringön, which are part of Hisingen’s shipyard area in Gothenburg. This is a fresh, hoppy New England IPA hopped with Cascade and Nelson Sauvin. There is 10g of fresh strawberries in every litre of beer, finished with a hint of passion fruit. This was first released in April 2024. But was this a good beer to start the night’s tasting? I thought it was pretty good, but a bit lacking in the strawberry stated in the name.
This was hazy golden with a light fluffy head, with an aroma of fresh strawberries, hay, lemon peel and clementine. The taste replicated the aroma somewhat, with the strawberry taking a back seat to the passion fruit presence in the taste. Grapefruit peel and fresh grass were also noted. The aftertaste was fresh but rather short, and didn’t leave much of an impression on the palate. The carbonation was fairly high, with a medium body for the style
I thought this was rather nice and easy to drink, but I would like the strawberry to make a bigger presence in the taste. I feel like it could have been upped by a large margin to really get those berry flavours going, instead of it being a more side presence. It was still enjoyable though, and they did a good job for it being a session IPA.
