Rated 4.19 on Untappd and 90 on Ratebeer. This was actually the first beer I bought for this tasting, and I grabbed the cans right off the shelf as soon as I saw them, as this is part of a range of beers I’ve always wanted to try. But did it live up to the hype? It absolutely did!
The first thing that struck me with this beer was just how thick it was. I’ve had some heavy beers in my time, but this must be in the top 3. There must be so much fruit packed into this beer! The best way to described is as an alcoholic smoothie. It was light canary yellow in colour with a thick, viscous head that held for a long time. All the fruits from the name came through in both aroma and taste, which is impressive as it’s usually one fruit that dominates in these kinds of beers. The banana and mango worked beautifully together, with the coconut notes backing them up. The aftertaste was long-lasting, as it simply coated the whole of the palate with every sip.
This was a monster fruit beer in a can, which at the tasting proved to be one of the favourites of the night. Extremely thick and heavy, this is not your average beer. I absolutely recommend you grab one of these or another from the same range if they pass by your way in the future. Delightful!
