Svartberget began brewing beers in 2017, even though their Åre based restaurant has been open since the 1980s. Originally they were brewing beer to sell in the restaurant but after gaining success they began launching in Systembolaget. This is brewed with blueberries, raspberries and blackberries. I had tried this a few times before the tasting and remembering how good it was, so it was the perfect time to have it in a tasting.

This was deep maroon in colour with a thin pink head atop the thick, juicy body. The aroma was massive and rich in berry fruit. The fresh raspberry and the acidic blackberry notes erupted from the glass and were delightful. These fruity notes followed closely into the taste, with the thick body coating the tongue. The acidity was refined, balancing the sweetness of the fruit extremely well. The aftertaste was short and sticky, and made you want to have another sip straight away.

This was a great fruit sour, packed full of fruity flavour. Heavy in body, aroma and taste, it is easy to see why this won an award. I could easily drink a few cans of this and I hope to do so again soon!
